Mayor Tim Kelly has appointed Cedric Henson as interim administrator of the Department of Community Development.
Mr. Henson currently serves as the deputy administrator for the Department of Public Works (DPW) and has worked for the city for the past two years. He replaces Carol Hunter, who will serve in a new role at DPW.
“Community development plays a vital role in the day-to-day life of many Chattanoogans,” Mayor Kelly said. “With Cedric’s interim appointment, I know he will provide a continuity of leadership for the department, including transitioning our community centers to neighborhood resource hubs for engagement, learning and support.”
“I want to thank Mayor Kelly for giving me an opportunity to embody the One Chattanooga plan and bring my skills from the Department of Public Works over to the Department of Community Development,” Mr.
Henson said. “I look forward to collaborating with the staff and continuing to ensure we have great customer service.”
