James Edward “Ed” Miller, 91, of Birchwood, Tennessee, passed away early Saturday morning, April 30, 2016, at the family residence.

Mr. Miller was the son of the late Lucille Townsend Miller and Hubert Miller; and was also preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jane Miller; his sister, Ethel May Walker; and his brother, Johnny Franklin Miller.

Mr. Miller was a U. S. Army Veteran serving during W.W.II. He was a butcher most of his life, working with Hampton Meat Processing and M and J Supermarkets. He also was retired from Allied-Bendix with over 12 years of service. He loved the outdoors including hunting and fishing. Mr. Miller attended the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughters, Lesa Cox and her husband Jimmy of Birchwood, Judy Williams and her husband Junior of Stephens, AL, Betty Goodman of Sweetwater, Anita Caldwell and her companion, Larry Back, Jamie Ellis and her husband Danny all of Cleveland, Emily Rogers and her husband Chris of Decatur and Bailey Miller of Cleveland; his grandchildren, Ashley Caldwell and her fiancé Danny Moats, Kim Newman and her husband Robbie, Amber Caldwell and her fiancé Jimmy Syndor, Zach Cox and Seth Ellis; several more grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Francis Falls of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Wednesday, May 4, at 1 p.m. from the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Reverend Ricky Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the McInturf Cemetery with Zach Cox, Jessie Howard, Marty Foote, Larry Back, Robby Miller and Seth Ellis serving as casket bearers. Military honors will be given. A Dove release will conclude the services.

The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 3 at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
