Cross, Herman (Cleveland)

Herman Cross, 81, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Sunday morning, Augut 21, 2016 in a Chattanooga health care facility.

Mr. Cross was the son of the late Maggie Bell Randolph Cross and Isom Earl Cross; and was also preceded in death by his wife, Christine Cross; his sons, David Lee Cross and James R. Cross; his sister, Willa Mae “Tootsie” Trentham; and his brother-in-law, Howard Trentham.

Mr. Cross worked for the City of Cleveland for more than 25 years. He loved the outdoors including fishing and camping. Mr. Cross was a Christian.

Survivors include his daughters, Linda Blankenship, Brenda Cross and Glenda Cross all of Cleveland; his sons, Leon Cross and his wife Lucille of Ellijay, GA and Harold Cross of Cleveland; his 14 grandchildren; his 21 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Cecil Cross and his wife Linda of Cleveland, Charles Cross and his wife Martha of McDonald; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 2 p.m. from the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel. Interment will follow in the Fort Hill Cemetery with family and friends serving as casket bearers.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
