Virginia Ann Raines, 75, of Flintstone, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2017 at her home. She was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. She will be remembered, among other things, for her love and devotion to her family, fortitude, selflessness and strong faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin and Margaret Higdon Weathers; sisters, Betty June Weathers, Mary Jo Taylor, Theodosia Cain, Frankie Byrd, Joyce Gravitt; brothers, Wesley, James, and Elmer Weathers.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Raymond Raines; brother, Earl (Judy) Weathers, Waxhaw, NC; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Weathers, Rossville; children, Donna (Cotton) Roe, Dunlap, Tammy (Jimmy) Ladd, Sequatchie, Tn., Kimball (Terri) McAfee, Dunlap, Deborah (Johnny) Byrd, Ronnie (Faye) Raines, Chickamauga, and James (Tanya) Raines, McDonald, Tn.; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Josh Hollifield officiating. Interment will follow in Paynes Chapel Cemetery on Lookout Mountain.
