James Johnson
James Edward Johnson, Jr., 53, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 in a local hospital.
He was formerly employed by Pilgrim’s Pride.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Johnson, Sr.; brothers, Paxton and Mark Johnson. Survivors include son, Traymane Smith, Sr. of Chattanooga; daughter, Krystal Johnson of Cleveland, OH; grandchildren, India Coleman, Isaac Smith, and Traymane Smith, Jr.; mother, Barbara Johnson; brother, Danny (Kosha) Johnson; sisters, Malanie (Stephon) Trimble, Felisha (Anthony) Hinton, and April (Rod) Young, all of Chattanooga; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; best friend, Karl Arnold.
He will lie in state on Saturday, March 18, after 10 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with the funeral to follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Dexter Mines as the eulogist.
Burial will be in Tyner Cemetery.
