Jessie Hughes Tops UCRA 602/Sportsman After 2nd Round At Fort Payne

After two rounds of new 2017 UCRA 602/Sportsman series Jessie Hughes (# 62) of Collinsville, AL leads the points tallying a 3rd place finish (Round # 1) May 12thand a runner up nod to Kenny Hall pf Geraldine, last night at Fort Payne Motor Speedway. Racing was fast and furious behind Hall who set sail against the field of a dozen competitors.

Hughes barely held off outside pole sitter Jeff Helms at the checkers. Hall's son "fan-favorite" Kasey collected the Super Late Model checkers ahead of Daniel Miller and Robert Gant in preparation for next Saturday's 10th annual "FireCracker 50" $3,000 to-WIN unsanctioned SLM show. Round # 3 of the UCRA 602/Sportsman series moves to the historic East Alabama Motor Speedway next Sunday (July 2nd) as part of the Salute to America Nationals weekend.
