Learn to make balloon centerpieces and party décor! This is a unique opportunity to work with balloon artist Patricia Balloona, who will be teaching a beginner’s series of classes in which students can learn to create five different balloon sculptures, which can be used for party décor, gifts, centerpieces and more.
Along the way students will learn about quality supplies, techniques to inflate and twist the balloons and lots of additional resources to find designs and instructions.
In this series of five classes students will create an adorable penguin, butterfly, panda bear on a balloon pedestal, giant pacifier and a huge 10 petalled flower.
The cost for all five classes, which includes supplies to make all five sculptures, will be $25. Students must be at least 10 years old. All students under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The classes will be limited in size.
Daytime classes will be from 12-1:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays, except on holidays, starting Aug. 13. Due to popular demand a second set of classes will be held on the first Thursday evening of the month from 6-7:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 6.
For information on signing up for either of these series of classes, please contact Heritage House Arts & Civic Center via e-mail to cholley@chattanooga.gov or by calling the office at 423 855-9474. Officials said, "We expect the class to be very POP-ular so sign up soon! Space is limited."
