Big Kahuna Wings, known for its award-winning wings, announced Thursday it has opened its third location, and first in Chattanooga, at 203 W Aquarium Way next to the Tennessee Aquarium.
The new 5,200 square foot family-style restaurant, which is open seven days a week and will include a full bar, is the brain- child of Knoxville native and former UTC student Matt Beeler, who started in the restaurant industry at an early age. He was introduced to the industry by his parents and later started his first venture in 1997. Currently, he has two locations in Knoxville, in Farragut on Kingston Pike near Dixie Lee junction, and West Town near the West Town Mall.
Founded in 2014, Big Kahuna Wings is a family-owned restaurant concept born out of the popular BKW Seasonings brand, whose Original Blend seasoning has been "satisfying taste buds at sporting events, parties and family gatherings for more than 50 years"
From these beginnings, Mr. Beeler has also created one of the most popular food festivals in Knoxville, the Big Kahuna Wing Festival, which takes place annually at Knoxville’s World's Fair Park, drawing crowds of more than 8,000 people and has raised over $400,000 for local charities in its seven years.
BKW, known for its all-natural, made fresh-to-order dry rub wings and its homemade BKW Seasonings and dipping sauces, also features salads, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, house-made sides and 20 beers on tap.
