Ruby Christopher
Ruby Lee Christopher, 94, of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, in a local health care facility.
She was educated in the Walker County School System. She was a faithful member of the East Third Street Church of Christ. Ruby retired from Rossville Mills after many years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Christopher; father, Charlie Powell; and mother, Addie L. Palmore.
Survivors include her children, Roger (Freda) Christopher of Ringgold, Bonita (Frankcel) Woodson of Glen Allen, Va., Larry Christopher of Chattanooga, and Steve (Hazel) Christopher of Rossville; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Rosetta Akins of Chattanooga; devoted nieces, Sykenya Buchanan and Dean Powell; devoted East Third Street Church of Christ “Church Family”; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Ruby will lie in state on Monday, Aug. 24, from 1-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 10:30 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. giving the words of comfort.
