Wynetta Harrington Radden, 94, passed away on January 7, 2021, in Chattanooga.

She was born in Sheffield, Al., to Harvey Wallace and Charlotte Wallace, on February 26, 1926. She was a resident of Chattanooga for over 70 years.

She graduated high school in Alabama and attended a local beauty school in Chattanooga. She was employed as a cashier clerk at Bullen’s Drug Store. Wynetta was the eldest surviving member of the Cannon, Johnson, Wallace, Harrington families. She loved to talk and never met a stranger. She loved to cook and could make something out of nothing. She always wanted to feed you and no one ever left her home hungry.

She loved her family, friends, and neighbors. She especially loved talking about her grandchildren with whom she loved playing and seeing regularly.

Wynetta was feisty and strong. Some of her last words were “she loved the Lord and she knew He loved her!”

She was predeceased by her husband, Larry Radden; parents, Harvey and Charlotte Wallace; nine siblings.

She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters, Phyllis (Audrey) Hardy, Columbus, OH., Wanda Harrington Crum, Constance Harrington, and Cheryl Hampton, all of Chattanooga; three sons, Allen Harrington, Barry (Callie) Harrington, and Gerald Harrington, all of Chattanooga; 17 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Public viewing will be held 9 a.m.-noon on Wednesday, Jan. 13, at the funeral home. A private funeral service will be held. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
