Howard, Ann "Granny" (Cleveland)

Ann Howard “Granny,” 70, of Cleveland, departed this life on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Tennova Healthcare in Cleveland. Born on July 9, 1951 to the late J.W. and Sylva Rymer, she was a native and lifelong resident of Bradley County, and was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. She owned and operated CIN-SHAN-ANN’s for several years, and was a loyal and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. “Granny,” as she was affectionately called, always had a smile on her face and always had a joke to share. All who knew her loved her. Ann was kind, selfless and welcoming to all, and loved her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and her furbabies.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brian Howard.

Left behind to cherish Ann’s memory are her children, Shanna Howard (Chris), Cindy Howard (Keith) and Micah Howard (Ashley); grandchildren, Briana Hyde (Cole), Colton Hobbs (Kortney), Amber Suttles, Kole Howard, Kase Howard and Karter Howard; great-grandchildren, Brian, Bo, Caison, Timber, Baileah and Landry; step-children, Eddie Howard, Ricky Howard and Patty Rodgers; as well as several extended family members and a host of special, lifelong friends.

A Celebration of Life and Homegoing for Mary Ann Rymer Howard “Granny” will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9 at New Liberty Baptist Church, with Brother Gary Higgins and Brother Danny Works officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens, with Cooper Wilson, Briar Lee, Daylon Martin, Chris Pennell, Terry Dalton, Blake Bullington, Hayden Ownbey and Fisher Creasman serving as acting pallbearers. Colton Hobbs, Cole Hyde, Kole Howard, Kase Howard, and Karter Howard will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at New Liberty Baptist Church.
