McKamey Animal Center announces its biggest adoption event of the year. This Saturday, adoption fees will be waived for every animal available.
The Center will also be open for an extended period of time on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., in an effort to accommodate as many people as possible. This is the final weekend of a national campaign, Clear the Shelters. While MAC encourages potential adopters to make an appointment ahead of time, walk-ins will not be turned away.
This event comes at a critical time for the Center, as they are still considered to be over-capacity. MAC currently has over 500 animals in their care, most of which are available for adoption.
“We are so excited to have our Clear the Shelter event on Saturday. We have an overabundance of amazing dogs and cats that have been waiting too long to be adopted – I hope that by Saturday evening, each and every one of them will be sleeping in their new homes and our kennels will be empty,” said Inga Fricke, MAC executive director.
The fee-waived adoptions, do not cover City license fees, leashes, collars or carriers. All animals adopted from McKamey Animal Center are spayed/neutered, microchipped and are up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and preventative medications.
