Wilburn Lloyd Davis, 85, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Friday, August 12, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas G and Mary W Davis; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Nadine Davis; brothers-in-law, Shelby Peeples and Jimmy Skates; nephew, Pete Gunn; and former wife, Linda L Davis.

He is survived by his daughters, Amy Terry and Kela Erwin (Monte) of Calhoun; sisters. Willena Peeples and Janice Skates; grandchildren, Morgan (Jordan) Mason of Canton, Chase Cassell and Sydney Terry of Calhoun; great-grandchildren, Mila Mason and Baby Lainey; special nieces and nephews, Alan Peeples, Jane Stanfield, Jackie Gunn, Tom Peeples, Bryan Peeples, Mandy Hayes and Eric Skates; former wife, Elaine McDonald; numerous great-nieces and nephews; special friend, Kenny Pike as well as numerous other special friends.

Lloyd attended Dawnville School and Dalton College. He proudly served in the United States Army. He retired from the Georgia State Patrol as commander of Post 5 Dalton, retired from UPS as well as constable of The Whitfield County Sherriff’s Department.

Lloyd attended Salem Baptist Church and he was an active member of Potter’s Clay Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 15, from 5-8 p.m. at Julian Peeples Pleasant Grove Chapel.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev Darey Kittle and Chris Bond officiating.
