George's Hamburgers was a longtime favorite in Downtown Chattanooga

Please allow me to share and go back down Memory Lane for my age bracket or older to the days of George's Hamburgers in Downtown Chattanooga, Tn,

As an elementary, Junior High to High Schooler kid, I remember the days of Georges Hamburgers, but they also had fabulous fries and hot dogs.

The hamburger I recall was five fully stacked regular size hamburgers with all the trimmings at no extra charge. It was a mainstay for for Chattanoogans and those who visited our great city.

The hot dogs and fries were very filling also, as I played basketball from Junior High To High School at Howard (seventh through 12th grades).

As a student and basketball player, for me it was the pinnacle of a fast food restaurant. No one I could recall would leave dissatisfied or disappointed.

It was the hub of downtown during those days - great cooks and servers.

When my Aunt Sis ( Pluma Jackson - God rest her soul) would take me and others to the wrestling match we would definitely get our George's Hamburgers. It was the best hands down,

Dank Hawkins
