Star of stage and screen Alan Cumming will be the featured guest at InterMission, a fundraising event and celebration of Chattanooga’s arts community, benefiting ArtsBuild's support of community arts organizations and programming, as well as field trips for Hamilton County Schools’ students. The inaugural event will be held on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. at the Roland Hayes Concert Hall on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Following a limited pre-sale for ArtsBuild supporters, tickets are on-sale to the general public as of 10 a.m.
today, and may be accessed by visiting ArtsBuild.com/intermission.

“We are thrilled to invite an artist of Alan’s caliber and talent to our community for the first time,” says ArtsBuild Board member and InterMission Co-Chair Dr. Quincy Jenkins. “His achievements across every possible medium are staggering, and he’s the ideal person to help us celebrate everything that the arts mean to communities like ours.”

Regular tickets are available for $125. VIP tickets are $250 and include premium seating for the event itself, as well as a private reception and photograph with Mr. Cumming, complimentary beverages and hors d'oeuvres.

InterMission will also serve as ArtsBuild’s annual recognition event for the recipients of the Ruth Holmberg Arts Leadership Award. This award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the arts in Chattanooga and who are actively engaged in the cultural life of the community— “Arts Builders” who exemplify ArtsBuild’s mission to build a stronger community through the arts as demonstrated by their significant contributions to the arts and their leadership. Nominations for this year’s Ruth Holmberg Arts Leadership Award are now open and may be accessed at ArtsBuild.com/intermission.

“Ruth Holmberg’s legendary love of the arts continues to enrich the lives of Chattanoogans every day,” says ArtsBuild Board member and InterMission Co-Chair Miles Huff. “She believed that the Scenic City should forever be known as a vibrant creative capital, and we can’t wait to honor the individuals who share her vision and generous spirit.”

InterMission is sponsored by TVA, US Xpress and Coeo Media. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available.
