Paul Howard Scates, 55, of East Ridge, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

Paul loved trivia, music, playing guitar and his cat, Jasper. He was self-employed as a graphic artist.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Lois Scates and Howard and Helen Millholland; “bonus dad,” Roger Hawkins; uncle, Terry Scates and a cousin, Casey Millholland.

Survivors include his former wife and still best friend, Veronica Scates; mother, Vicki Millholland Hawkins; Paul Scates and “bonus mom” Wanda; sister, Christa Goode and her husband, Dwayne; niece and nephew, Breckyn Goode and Braden Goode; uncles Randy Millholland and Danny Millholland and his wife, Lydia; aunt, Dabney Crowe and her husband, James; cousin, Darla Burleson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Drew and Sterling Vanosdale.

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Grace Bible Church 3827 Hixson Pike, Hixson, Tn.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Kyle Petty’s Victory Junction Gang Camp (www.Victoryjunction.org) or the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots.

Arrangements are by Cremation Center of Chattanooga.
