George Alfred Bailey, 91, of Ringgold, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 1, 2024.

He was born in Muncie, In. on April 15, 1933, to the late Dale Howard Bailey and Mary Elizabeth Waters Bailey. He graduated from Bellevue High School in Nashville, Class of 1951 and had lived in the Chattanooga area since 1969. He was a member of the Tyner Church of Christ. Mr. Bailey served his country in the U.S. National Guard for 12 years. He worked at GE Supply for 17 years, then General Electric Company for another 17 years and retired from Astec Industries after 12 years of service. George enjoyed woodworking, watching the Atlanta Braves and college football. He also loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cheering them on in their activities.

Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Jeanette Bailey; son Bob (Jennifer) Bailey; daughter, Linda (Kelly) Wimberley; grandchildren, Tanner (Tessa) Bailey, Savannah Bailey, Conner (Emma) Wimberley, Hunter (Anna) Wimberley and Jordan Wimberley; great-grandchildren, Harper Wimberley, Hattie Wimberley, Daisy Wimberley, Magnolia Wimberley and Jarrod Bailey with a little sister on the way.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, at the Tyner Church of Christ.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at the Tyner Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation. T2T.org
