UTC announced closures for Friday and Saturday:

UTC Community:

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Warning from Friday, January 10, 2025 morning through Saturday, January 11, 2025 morning.

The safety of the University community is always our top priority.

Modification to Campus Operations

Thursday, January 9, 2025

  • No changes to campus operations.
  • Athletics encourages fans to cheer on the Men’s Basketball team vs. the University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG) at 5:00 PM in McKenzie Arena.

Friday, January 10, 2025

All classes and activities for Friday, January 10, 2025 are CANCELLED.

For employees, this will be an unscheduled administrative closure.

  • “Essential Employees” should report to campus as directed by their supervisor.
  • Supervisors in all areas should plan for the continuity of critical services and engage required personnel for remote work as needed.

Mocs Dining (Aramark) will operate using the following schedule:

Main Campus

  • Crossroads Dining Hall: 7:30 AM – 9:00 PM
  • University Center Food Court: Closed
  • Freshens: Closed
  • Starbucks: Closed

South Campus

  • Subway: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
  • South Campus POD: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM

West Campus

  • Chef Express: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
  • Einstein Bros Bagels: Closed
  • West Campus POD: 10:00 AM – Midnight (12:00 AM)

Campus Recreation

  • Aquatic and Recreation Center (ARC) will be OPEN 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM. The pool will be closed.
  • Sports Complex will be CLOSED.

Mocs Express (Campus Shuttle) and other CARTA buses will operate on their normal routes and schedule, dependent on road conditions.

Mail Services will be CLOSED. Please pick up any packages by Thursday, January 9, 2025, by 5:00 PM.

University Center will be CLOSED.

UTC Bookstore will be OPEN from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, dependent on weather conditions. Due to the University Center closure, access to the Bookstore will be limited to the entrance near Mocs Alumni Drive.

UTC Library will be CLOSED.

All events scheduled to take place are CANCELLED. Organizers will communicate if these events are to be rescheduled and, if so, on what dates and times.
