The Chattanooga Lookouts concluded their week long series with the Knoxville Smokies on Sunday, falling 3-0. Shortstop Edwin Arroyo was the lone bright spot offensively for Chattanooga as he went 2-4 with a double, the only extra base hit on the afternoon for the Lookouts.
Five Smokies pitchers combined on the shutout with starting pitching Grant Kipp collecting the win with five scoreless innings. He moves to 2-0 on the young season. The Smokies' hurlers fanned the Lookouts twelve times.
Chattanooga starting pitcher Jared Lyons collected the tough luck loss as he went five solid innings, allowing only one run on six hits with a strikeout and no walks.
The Lookouts return home and begin a series with Columbus starting Tuesday night and stretching through Sunday. First pitch is at 7:15 Tuesday through Saturday and at 2:15 on Sunday.
