CLEVELAND, Tenn.
-- Bradley Central secured the No. 4 seed for the upcoming District 5-4A Tournament with an 8-1 trampling of crosstown rival Cleveland, Tuesday at Brenda Lawson Field.

"Very proud of how our girls responded after a tough loss last night (3-1 at Whitwell)!' proclaimed Bearette head coach Caden Ricketts.

"First off, what a game by Kaylee (Callahan)! We gave up one in the first and that was it. Complete game with nine strikeouts, just super proud of her!

"I thought we played very solid defensively as well," he assessed. "Offensively, I thought it was one of our most complete games as far as doing our jobs and advancing runners.

"Multiple girls with multi hits and multi RBI games and a big time bomb from Tori Cagle.

"We’ve just got to build off this and continue to get better going into the District Tournament next week," Coach Ricketts added.

Bradley (13-14, 4-5 District 5-4A) will host McMinn County Thursday before entertaining league-leader East Hamilton in a make-up game Friday.

The Bearettes wrap up the regular season Monday when McMinn Central comes to town.

Cleveland (3-10, 2-7) will journey to Hixson Monday and East Ham Tuesday to cap its regular season.

BEARETTES 8, LADY RAIDERS 1: Cleveland opened the scoring with its lone run in the bottom of the first when freshman Emma Thompson singled home junior Brylee Cisco, who had stroked a one-out double.

Bradley answered with scores in its next four at bats, including a trio of crooked numbers.

The Bearettes circled the bases three times in the top of the second, once in the third, and two more in both the fourth and fifth frames.

Junior Ma'Ryah Greenwood led the Bradley 10-hit parade by getting on all four times with double, single, a walk and she was hit by a pitch, plus she drove in a pair of teammates and scored once herself.

Freshman Kolbie Wilson also stroked a two-bagger and a one-base knock, while plating two scores and completing the circle herself.

Sophomore Khloe Farkas had a pair of hits and scored twice, while Asbury (Ky.) University signee Cagle powered a two-run blast.

Aly Patterson got one base with a single and a walk, while Callahan helped herself with RBI-hit. Lexi Patterson drew a run-scoring base one balls.

Cisco had half of Cleveland's hits with a double and a single, plus she scored a run.

UNC-Charlotte signee Landri Nelson stroked a double and drew a pair of free passes, while Thompson's RBI-single rounded out the Lady Raider hits.

Abby Hozouri "walked the line" and "took one for the team."
