Claudette Smith Horten, 51, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, after a brave battle against breast cancer. She will be remembered for her kindness, great sense of humor, and dedication to be helpful to others.
Claudette was a lifelong Chattanooga area resident, and graduated from Red Bank High School, and attended UTC. She was employed by Crye-Leike Realty in the relocation department.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; father, Floyd L. Smith; mother, Mildred McGowan Smith; a brother, Lee Smith; and an infant sister, Janice Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Horten; beloved son Christopher; sister, Linda Watkins; and her loved nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Resurrection will be on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Father Mike Nolan and Father Gilbert Diaz officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service at 8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.
