2-Day Cemetery Preservation Workshop With Jonathan Appell, Nationally Known Expert

The African American Cemetery Preservation Fund, in partnership with the Tennessee Historical Commission, invites the public to attend a two-day cemetery preservation workshop at historic Pleasant Garden Cemetery at at 306 Rowe Road in Chattanooga.

Jonathan Appell, nationally known expert monument conservator will lead the workshop. Mr. Appell is best known for his annual 48 State Tour in which he travels to cemeteries across the country to provide free gravestone preservation workshops. The workshop will encompass the basics of cemetery conservation. He will address common concerns in preservation and maintenance of cemeteries and offer hands-on training with participation encouraged. Learn the most effective techniques in cleaning, making basic repairs, and the leveling and straightening of gravestones. 0
