Erlanger on Monday expressed deep appreciation to Tennessee’s congressional delegation — particularly Senators Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty and Congressman Chuck Fleischmann and Governor Bill Lee — for their critical support and advocacy in securing federal approval of the TennCare Hospital Investment Program budget neutrality waiver and the 2025 TennCare Waiver Amendment.
"This is a big win for Erlanger, Tennessee’s hospitals and the communities we serve," said Jim Coleman, CEO of Erlanger. "We’re especially grateful to Senators Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty and Congressman Chuck Fleischmann, with the strong support of Governor Bill Lee for their tireless support and advocacy with The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and The Office of Management and Budget to help push this over the finish line. Their efforts made all the difference."
The federal approval ensures that Erlanger and all hospitals across the state will receive fair compensation for care already delivered, reinforcing the financial stability of Tennessee’s healthcare system and supporting long-term sustainability.
"We’re proud to work alongside such strong advocates for health care for our state," Mr. Coleman added. "This outcome is a powerful example of what can happen when local, state and federal leaders come together with a shared focus on doing what’s best for Tennesseans."
