D.A.R.E. Program Instructors
Sheriff Austin Garrett is proud to announce the graduation of our two newest Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office D.A.R.E. Instructors. On Friday, June 27th, Hamilton County School Resource Deputies Tammy Davis and Monica Mills successfully graduated from the intense 80-hour D.A.R.E. Officer’s Training Course in Mount Juliet, Tennessee.
“I’m proud of School Resource Deputies Davis and Mills for their initiative in becoming D.A.R.E. instructors. Completing the D.A.R.E. training is a demanding task, and their dedication to our agency and the students of Hamilton County is commendable. Expanding D.A.R.E. is an important part of my vision as your Sheriff and my administration recognizes the vital role this program plays in shaping young lives—equipping students with the tools to make responsible decisions, manage conflict, and understand the real dangers of substance abuse. The modern D.A.R.E. curriculum goes far beyond drug education; it fosters critical life skills and values that will benefit our county’s children for years to come,” stated Sheriff Austin Garrett.
Since the D.A.R.E. program was reintroduced by HCSO in Fall 2022, approximately 1,000 students have completed the curriculum county-wide.
