The Chief John Ross Chapter, NSDAR, is a 102-year-old chapter in the Chattanooga area. Its membership of 185 members makes it the third-largest chapter in Tennessee. Every three years, the National Society, the State Society and the Chief John Ross Chapter elect new executive officers to serve for a three-year term. For the Chief John Ross Chapter, the slate of officers change during the June meeting of the third year.

The chapter held their June meeting at Manor Oaks Manor in Ooltewah.
Their special guest was Emily Robinson, Tennessee state regent, who brought greetings on behalf of the Tennessee Society Daughters and recalled the accomplishments of the chapter over the past three years.

A memorial service was held for two beloved chapter members, Jackie Garrison and Barbara Painter.

A new member induction ceremony took place for the 10 new chapter members who joined the Chapter since June 2024. American Heritage Chair Debra Croft and Honorary Regent Teresa Rimer presented a Quilt of Valor to new chapter member, Janet Green, an honorably discharged disabled veteran, who served from November 1974 until November 1980. Chapter membership anniversaries were also recognized with milestone anniversary certificates.

Outgoing Chapter Regent Jennifer Harvey recognized the talent and hard work of the ladies who served on the chapter executive board during her term. Regent Harvey has been elected honorary chapter regent in recognition of the chapter’s many accomplishments during her term as chapter regent.

State Regent Emily Robinson installed the 2025-2028 executive board. The board members of the chapter are Candace Barger, regent; Lisa Legg, first vice regent; Carol Mingle, second vice regent; Janis Odom, chaplain; Donna Dodson, recording secretary; Sarah Winton, corresponding secretary; Jennifer Harvey, treasurer; Susan Sawyer, registrar; Julia Morrison, historian; Elizabeth Anderson, librarian; and Executive Board Members Susan Whelchel and Jean Drew.
