James Carl Poe, 70, of Soddy-Daisy, died on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006.
He was a member of Covenant Baptist Church in Red Bank, and an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Ollie Poe, and sonin-law, Jack Austin.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Ann Poe, of Soddy-Daisy; daughters, Carla Austin, of Hixson, and Teresa McIntosh, of Soddy-Daisy; brothers, Bobby Poe and Johnny Poe, of Sale Creek; sisters, Mildred Clark, of Dayton, Tn., Sue Smith, of Sale Creek, and Thelma Gustin, of Anderson, In.; five grandsons, Jeremy Coleman, Jason Coleman, DeWayne Early, Patrick Austin and Zach Hardy; granddaughter, Ashley McIntosh; two greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Ellis Chastain and the Rev. Albert Oliver officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with grandsons acting as pallbearers and employees of Mueller Co. Mold Master Division.
His family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
