Robert Lee Shirly, 80, died on Tuesday, November 13, 2007.
He retired from Ringgold Post Office and was a member of the Boynton Baptist Church since 1949, also a member of the IBEW Local 175, American Legion Post 40, Quitman Masonic Lodge No 106, Scottish Rite of Chattanooga, Bicentennial Volunteer Inc. and Good Sam Camping Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Griffin and Betty Monger Shirley, and brothers, J.F., Griffin, Frank and Fred Shirley.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Carlock Shirley of Ringgold; daughters and son-in-law, Libby and Ron Turner of Waycross, Ga., and Alice Tatum of Ringgold; grandchildren, Jeffery Harper, Cindy Harper and Beth McCain of Ringgold, Robert Turner of Winder, Ga., Russell Turner of Waycross, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Kristin and Amanda McCain, Zach Barger, Mana Keown and Jeremiah Harper.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday until funeral time at the funeral home.
