Ora Moore
Ora “Louise” Clopton Moore, of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, December 25, 2008 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
She was a former member of Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church, where she taught Sunday School and served on the Stewardess Board. She later united with the Fellowship Baptist Church under Pastor W.H. Thompson, where she was an active and devoted member, serving on the trustee board, and organizing several fund-raising events.
She was a life member of the NAACP. She was a hair stylist at Sher-Linn Stylist and a longtime caregiver for Mrs. Marie Reynolds.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Moore; parents, Napoleon and Mary Clopton; six brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her sisters, Mattie Clopton (devoted caregiver and best friend), Rosa Davis, Mary Lee Grandison, Lillie K. Gaimary, Evangeline Mosley, Emma Bright; two brothers, Aaron Clopton and Jesse Clopton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; dear friends, Charlie Norman, Edmund Townsend, Charline Kilpatrick, Faithe Dutto.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, at noon at Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Thurman officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 1 p.m. and family visitation on Monday from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
