Dalton Police Chaplains Plan Christmas Toy Drive

  • Thursday, December 4, 2008

The Dalton Police Chaplains will hold their annual Christmas Toy Drive on Friday, to benefit children at the GreenHouse child advocacy center.

From 10 a.m. - until 2 p.m., the chaplains will be stationed in front of the Dalton Police Services Center at 301 Jones St., accepting toys and also any donations of clothing, shoes, or coats for children. Anybody interested in dropping off a toy can drive through the front parking lot off of Jones Street and hand off the items from their vehicle.

The GreenHouse is a child advocacy center that serves child victims of physical and sexual abuse in Whitfield and Murray Counties. Many of the victims and their siblings come from disadvantaged backgrounds, and the Dalton Police Chaplains collect toys every year to make sure they have something for Christmas. The presents will be given to the children and their families at the annual GreenHouse Christmas Party.
