Police Say Gang Members On Both Sides Of Gunfire

  • Wednesday, June 24, 2009

Chattanooga Police officers have arrested 10 people and charged them with felony reckless endangerment and vandalism after a late-night call of shots fired on Holiday Hills Drive.

Police said several people located at a house where shots were fired are members of the Gangster Disciples and at least one person in a passing vehicle is a member of the Rollin' 60s gang.

Around 2:30 a.m., Chattanooga Police Patrol officers were called to 7749 Holiday Hills Dr. (Bonny Oaks area) on shots fired into a residence. Upon the officers arrival, police located six black males sitting on the porch.

Police officers approached the porch and observed numerous shell casings lying on the ground. There were two vehicles with damage to them and a neighbor’s house that had a bullet hole in the upstairs bedroom window.

While these officers were on this scene, other officers stopped a gray Dodge Durango on Nautical Way (same neighborhood) occupied by four black males.

The Durango had a bullet hole in the window and shell casings inside the vehicle.

The residence at 7749 Holiday Hills Circle was searched by the officers and a 9mm Tech 9 handgun and another small handgun were found.

The six males on the porch told officers they were sitting on the porch and someone drove by and shot at them. The officers found numerous inconsistencies in their stories. The four males in the Durango also told different stories and officers found inconsistencies in their stories. It was determined all of these subject were being untruthful and lying to the officers.

Officers talked with the victims who lived where the gunshot went into the upper bedroom window and they stated the shot was into their daughter’s bedroom where the child was sleeping. However, the child was not injured. This residence was in no way involved, other than the stray bullet into their residence.

The Crime Suppression Unit was called to the scene along with Major Crimes and Crime Scene Unit Investigators who assisted patrol officers.

Those arrested were:
