Ernestine Carter
Ernestine L. “Tina” Carter, 82, died on November 7, 2011 at a local health care facility.
She was retired from Planters.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Louella Knox.
Survivors include her husband, Norman G. L. Carter; daughter, Norma J. (Sonny) Cooper; granddaughters, Teena Marie Keyes and Jacqueline A. Cooper; god-daughter, Shirley Elston of Chattanooga; great-grandson, George Graves; devoted cousins, Jettie (James) Carter, Georgette, Jamilia and Matthew Sherls, all of Tacoma, Wa.; sisters-in-law, Louise Ellison, Mildred Washington of Detroit, Mi.; Lucille Alford of Carson, Ca.; Mary Pressley of Nashville; brother-in-law, Charles (Mary) Pressley, Midland, Ga.; niece and caretaker, Sharon Cannon; special friends, Bernice Parker, Jacqueline Parker, Regina and Xavier Miller, all of Chattanooga; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, November 14, at Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church with Harold K. Lester officiating. Interment will be in National Cemetery.
The body will lie in state after noon on Sunday, November 13, with the family receiving friends from 6–7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
