Dr. Dabney James And Parkridge Medical Group Earn Healthspring Quality Awards

  • Monday, November 26, 2012

Dr. Dabney James, internal medicine specialist at Parkridge Medical Group Diagnostic Center, was recognized by Medicare Advantage insurer HealthSpring for achieving the highest possible quality compliance score and the highest score of any physician participant in the company’s Partnership 4 Quality (P4Q) initiative. Parkridge Medical Group practices also received special High Performer recognition from HealthSpring for reaching P4Q quality benchmarks.

P4Q is a physician-designed program that focuses on keeping patients healthy and improving their quality of life by providing highly personalized preventive care.

“The P4Q program revolutionizes the patient experience by empowering physicians and coordinating care across all levels,” explains Steve Burdette, provider network administrator for HealthSpring.

Through electronic records, the program tracks quality measures, such as preventive screenings and vaccines. P4Q rewards physicians for quality treatment of patients and provides support resources, such as extra in-office nurses, to help optimize clinical outcomes. Participation in the P4Q program is voluntary and reflects a physician’s commitment to providing outstanding quality care for patients.

Parkridge Medical Group is one of three practices in Tennessee that have achieved High Performer Status in the P4Q program. This marks the second consecutive year that a Parkridge Medical Group physician has received top honors for high performance in achieving quality metrics.

HealthSpring reports that since the launch of the P4Q program in 2006, participating physicians and their patients have reported dramatically improved clinical quality measures and increased satisfaction. “HealthSpring strives to serve both its members and partnering physicians, and the P4Q program meets that objective by fostering a better healthcare delivery environment so that everyone benefits,” notes Burdette.
