Ida Richards Strickland, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at a local hospital.
She grew up in St. Elmo, attended Calvin Donaldson School and graduated from Howard High School in 1959. She retired from Dixie Yarn after 35 years of service.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents, Carl B and Susie Cathy Woods.
Survivors include her children, Gregory (Angela), Kathy and Felicia Strickland; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Vivian Richards Talley; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, at Trammell Chapel of Hardwick & Sons Funeral Home, 913 East M. L. King Blvd.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, at Forest Hill Cemetery with Minister George Woodruff officiating.
