Phyllis Eleanor Moore Eaton, 69, died on June 30, 2013 after a long struggle with a brain tumor, head injuries, cancer and various treatments.

“Absent from the body… present with the Lord.”

She was born in Portland, ME, on a snowy Jan. 8, 1944 and grew up in York, ME, where she was a member of the York High School class of 1962.  She graduated from Beverly School of Nursing, Beverly, MA in 1967. She held RN licenses in Florida, Arizona, New Hampshire, Maine, Texas, Washington and Tennessee, all states where she lived throughout her life.  She retired from Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Tennessee as a nursing consultant in 1999.

She will be remembered fondly for her gift of mercy, many acts of kindness, lively piano playing, the perfect chocolate chip cookie, excessive holiday decorations and festive party planning.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of them.

She is survived by her faithful and loving husband of 46 years, William Eaton, retired TVA, two daughters th who she was very proud of, Ruth Marie Holladay (Stuart Holladay) and Rachel Marie Wright (Andy Wright) and three grandsons she adored, William Holladay, Andrew Holladay and Hal Stephens.

She had many beloved pets over the years which included dogs, Ruffy, Rascal, Happy and Scout as well as cats, Mitsie, Smokey, Crystal, Little Bit, Tigger, Fluffy and Funny Girl.  To honor her love and passion for animals, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to McKamey Animal Center, 4500 North Access Road, Chattanooga, TN 37415..

Family will receive friends at 2 p.m., on Saturday, July 6, in the Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home

Memorial service will be on Saturday, July 6, at 2:30 p.m., in the Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel With Reverend Brant Holladay officiating.

Private entombment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens

Arrangements are by the Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist, North Chapel, Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
