Ricky Morris Shively of Chattanooga, Tennessee, born November 14, 1954 in Boston, Massachusetts, died on Saturday, October 18, 2014.

Rick was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, Indiana Hoosier Football fan, and an avid golfer. He took great pride in shaming the neighbors with his pristine yard-work and green thumb landscape.

Rick was a 25-year veteran of RockTenn Company ending most recently at the Chattanooga Mill as logistics manager.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sallie Mae Johnson, grandfather, Bob Johnson, cousin’s Danny and Sid Devoe, mother-in-law, Patricia Oliver Smith, father-in-law Jerry Smith, niece, Patricia Oliver and nephew, Staff Sargent Chris Birdwell.

Ricky Shively leaves behind his wife Debra Shively to whom he was married for 29 years; son, Sgt. Erick Shively, assigned with Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command at Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu, Hawaii and his wife, Colleen, and their two children, Logan and Juliet; daughter, Jenna Shively of Chattanooga. Rick is also survived by his father, Morris Chester Shively and step-mother Marilyn of Bedford, Indiana, step-father James and mother Barbara Kirkland of Albany, Indiana, brothers, Drew Shively and wife Margie of Union, Kentucky, and Tim Shively of Bloomington, Indiana, step-brothers, Randy Parker of Olympia, Washington, Todd Parker and wife Jessica of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Brad Parker and wife Sandy of Greenville, North Carolina. Nieces include Jessica Maley of Union Kentucky, Katie Shively of Carrolton, Kentucky, Devin Shively of Union, Kentucky, Kierston Shively of Ellettsville, Indiana and nephew JB Shively, of Bloomington, Indiana, sister and brother-in-law, Jim and Pam Birdwell of Windsor, Colorado, their children Dustin, Maley and Maegan, Scott and Rose Oliver and children, Drew, Sharlene, Josh, and Faith of Tallahassee, Chris and Vicky Henderson and their children, Katheryn, Aimy and Larah, and father-in-law, Richard Oliver of Columbus, In. Additional survivors include numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Harold McClure officiating.
