Frances Pope Has No Regrets

I have ended my first run for elected office with my head high, my heart thankful and no regrets.  I appreciate all of the love, prayers and support of my family, friends and neighbors.  My run was not successful in attaining the most votes, but my run was successful in getting some people involved in speaking out and I hope and pray that it is a trend that continues. This city belongs to the citizens and it is not only a right, but a responsibility to be involved and hold elected officials accountable.

The election is over, but how our local government’s decisions affect your daily life continues.  Don’t sit back until the next election.  Start today, being informed, being involved and having your voice heard.

I give heartfelt congratulations to Brent Lambert for retaining his seat as mayor of East Ridge.  I look forward to observing the changes in our city and watching Mayor Lambert grow as a stronger, more confident leader of our city.  I know his first four year term has had its problems with Council working together effectively.

My biggest joy in this election is that Mayor Lambert’s and my other opponent will no longer be an elected official in East Ridge.  It may not be a “politically correct” statement, but it is the truth.

Thanks, again to all that voted, whether you voted for me or for Mayor Brent Lambert.
