Erlanger’s Chief Nurse Executive Receives ACHE Regent’s Award

Erlanger Health System Chief Nurse Executive, Jan Keys, DNP, FACHE, received the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Senior Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award last week at the Tennessee Hospital Association’s annual meeting in Nashville.

Spiegel, Erlanger President and CEO, as well as ACHE’s Regent for Tennessee, presented the award to Keys. The Senior Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award recognizes ACHE members who are experienced in the field and have made significant contributions to the advancement of healthcare management excellence and the achievement of ACHE’s goals.

 

“Dr. Keys is truly deserving of this prestigious award,” said Mr. Spiegel. “She represents the highest standards of healthcare leadership, and we at Erlanger are fortunate to have her on our team of professionals.”

 

Members are evaluated on leadership ability; innovative and creative management, executive capability in developing their own organization and promoting its growth and stature in the community; contributions to the development of others in the healthcare profession; leadership in local, state or provincial hospital and health association activities; participation in civic/community activities and projects; participation in ACHE activities; and interest in assisting ACHE in achieving its objectives.

 

Dr. Keys has been Chief Nurse Executive of the Erlanger Health System since 2013. She is a graduate of Dalton State College of Nursing and earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Nursing from State University of West Georgia. She has a Wharton Business School Fellowship from the University of Pennsylvania and has a doctorate degree in nursing practice from the University of Tennessee.

 

She is a member of several regional, state and national healthcare organizations and has served as a member of the board of directors of several local and state organizations.
