ScriptRelief has announced that its family of pharmacy discount cards helped Chattanooga residents save more than $338,000 on prescription medications in 2014. This month, the company is mailing a new round of its Healthcare Alliance cards to numerous households throughout Chattanooga.

“We issue thousands of pharmacy discount cards each year, and we are pleased to be serving residents of Chattanooga,” said Rich Vogel, COO and co-founder of Script Relief, LLC.  “Last year, our cards were used on over 2,600 transactions in the city, delivering Chattanoogans $338,751 in savings on prescription medications.”

The complimentary cards provide discounts on FDA-approved prescription medications sold at numerous pharmacies including Costco, Rite Aid, Target and Walmart. The cards are pre-activated and no registration is required for use. Cardholders present the card to the pharmacist when filling a prescription at their local pharmacy.

While discounts vary based on the prescriptions being filled, ScriptRelief reports that the average discount is almost 50 percent.

The pharmacy discount cards are free, and cardholder information is never sold or rented to a third party. The cardholder’s information is fully protected by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
