Erlanger To Install New Computer Firewall, Upgrade Angiography Equipment

  • Monday, June 22, 2015

Erlanger Health System is upgrading its computer firewall and its angioplasty equipment.

The hospital board finance committee on Monday night recommended approval for the projects.

Erlanger opted to have the current firewall provider, Palo Alto, furnish new firewall software and hardware at a cost of $676,750.

The current system was installed in 2011.

The work is set to be completed by the end of the year.

Officials said the current angiography lab is 16 years old and beyond its useful life.

Erlanger, which has a top-rated stroke center, is doubling its stroke patients and also enhancing its oncology program.

Officials said the move is not adding more labs, but will provide new efficiencies so more patients can be seen.

The project cost is $3,199,825.
