Glenn Foster, 77, of Ringgold, died at Hamilton Medical Center on July 11 following a brief illness.
Glenn, a lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, attended Catoosa County schools, graduated from Ringgold High School and later attending Walker Technical Institute. Glenn served in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Foster Refrigeration, but spent many hours helping family, friends and others in the community.
Glenn was the son of Fernie Flynn Foster and Bazlene Holsomback Foster. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Kenneth Flynn Foster, his sister-in-law, Jessie Gates Foster, and his nephew-in-law, Gary Swanson.
Although Glenn never married and had no children of his own, but those fortunate enough to be included in his close circle never felt they were anything but his. Survivors include Wanda Harwood, Kendall Foster (Lori), Randall Foster (Tracey), Kathy Foster Henson (Danny), Dale Harwood (Jean), Deidre Harwood Suggs (Mike), Tristan Phillips, Janis Foster Swanson, Austin Foster, Jenna Foster, Jordan Foster, Courtney Foster Shearer (Brent), Candace Foster Story (Jimmy), Daniel Henson (Brooke), Roxanne Henson Clark (John Wood), Miles Clark, Natalie Clark, Cade Henson, Eden Henson and many other close friends and family members.
There will be no visitation.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, at the New Liberty Cemetery in Ringgold.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 923 Graysville Road, Ringgold, Ga. 30736.
