Chattanooga's Entrepreneurial Journey Celebrated In New Book

  • Wednesday, April 27, 2016

Memorializing Chattanooga’s iconic entrepreneurial spirit, the publishers of Chattanooga’s Heroic Drive are returning with a collectible, photojournalistic-inspired portrayal of the people, visions and stories central to the Scenic City’s modern-day transformation into a go-to entrepreneurial hub of the Southeast.

Tentatively titled Live LARGE in Chattanooga, the oversized, hardbound coffee table book, along with a companion website, will be co-authored by three pioneers of Chattanooga’s startup community— Ted Alling, Barry Large and Allan Davis— while researched and edited by renowned Tennessee author and historian Jack Neely. Aiming to document the city through the words of people who know and love it well, local companies are also invited to share their own growth stories.

“Providing Chattanooga’s entrepreneurs and business owners the platform to share their own success stories and celebrate the courage, hard work and ingenuity it took to bring their visions and this city to where it is today is a priceless opportunity, and one we hope will help keep Chattanooga’s momentum going strong,” said Bob Towery, publisher for Publishing Resources Group, Inc. “This will also be an invaluable marketing tool to send to companies that may have an interest in expanding or relocating here.”

Scheduled to debut by 2017, Live LARGE in Chattanooga is part of Publishing Resources Group’s ongoing “Urban Renaissance Books” series which highlights communities investing in the innovation and progressive quality of life of its residents. This latest book follows up the December 2010 release of Chattanooga’s Heroic Drive which previously showcased the historic rebirth of Chattanooga as one of America's most admired mid-sized cities.

“Chattanooga is a rare gem,” said Chamber President and CEO William B. Kilbride. “There is no better place in the Southeast to grow a business— to turn a kitchen table idea into a household product or a blueprint into a brick and mortar business. Our story is a unique one and characterized by the innovation of the thinkers and dreamers here. It’s truly a city worth celebrating and a story worth sharing.”

Live LARGE in Chattanooga is currently in production—any local businesses interested in sharing their stories are asked to contact Robert Philips with Publishing Resources Group, Inc. at robert.philips@pubresgroup.com. For more information, please visit www.pubresgroup.com
