Peggy Lowry Shepard, 80, a native and lifelong resident of Chattanooga, died on Monday, June 20, 2016.

She was a member of Terra Vista Baptist Church and was actively involved in the Bible Study Fellowship International Organization. She was also retired from the Hamilton County Board of Education as a payroll specialist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Shepard; parents, George and Janie Lowry; and brothers, Robert and Davey Lowry.

Surviving are her children, Karen Rhyne of Chattanooga, Diane (Terry) Sloan of Chattanooga, Greg Shepard of Chattanooga, and Jane (Gary) Aadnes of Springhill, TN; two granddaughters, Lynde (Russell) Thompson  and Madeline Aadnes; great-granddaughters, Masen and Rowan; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 27, at Terra Vista Baptist Church, 4412 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37416, with Brother Jeff Howell officiating and visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 519 E. 4th St. Chattanooga, Tn. 37403.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 404 South Moore Road.
