UTC Tennis Falls To No. 13 Georgia Tech 7-0

  • Saturday, February 18, 2017
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 match at No. 13 Georgia Tech today.  The Mocs fall to 6-3 overall while the Yellow Jackets improved to 7-2.

"I thought the girls played really tough today," stated UTC head coach Chad Camper.  "Georgia Tech is one of the best teams in the nation, but I thought we did well on every court.  We really learned, and I think that is what this process is for a lot of the players this year. This exposed some things we need to work on."

The Mocs best chance to score came from sophomore Delaney Edwards at No.
2.  She pushed paige Hourigan to three sets in the (6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (5)) loss.

"Delaney Edwards had some good opportunities to beat a good player," added Camper.  "Rachele had a couple of set points to get into a third set and showed a lot of positives.

"I am really proud of this team and I am looking forward to putting it all together these next few matches, especially as we move outside."

The Mocs are back home on Monday hosting Murray State.  Match time against the Racers is 5:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) at Baylor's Guerry Tennis Center.  A link for live scoring is on the women's tennis schedule page on GoMocs.com.
