The Princess Theater in South Pittsburg will be alive with the music of Ricky J Taylor and the Live Roots Ensemble on Saturday, April 29. The band will take the stage at 4:30 p.m. CST with their unique, multi-genre sound that includes elements of folk, traditional country and bluegrass music.
Review for Ricky J Taylor and the Live Roots Ensemble:
Ricky’s original songs are grounded in Southern traditions, where music is sincere and born from matters of the heart. He toured with bluegrass great Claire Lynch prior to forming the Live Roots Ensemble.
"We create new music that strives to remain in living contact with its cultural roots,” Mr. Taylor said.
The performance includes a traditional Irish folk dance, performed by Inge Wood, who also plays fiddle, viola, mandolin and guitar. “Celtic music is a strong influence in our music, and my dancing is a natural expression of this heritage,” Ms. Wood explains.
The band also features five-time Tennessee State Fiddle Champion, Jim Wood, Ben Ayers, on upright bass and percussionist Kyle Copeland. Go to www.liverootsensemble.com for more on the band.
