Jim Reynolds To Be Inducted Into Tennessee Radio Hall Of Fame

  • Tuesday, April 25, 2017
Long time "Voice of the Mocs" Jim Reynolds is among the 2017 inductees into the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame.  He will be honored, along with the rest of the incoming class, at the Induction Ceremony and Banquet on Saturday, May 6, at the Marriott in Nashville.

Since 1980, Jim Reynolds has been a daily fixture on local morning drive airways as a part of WGOW's lineup.  He has also hosted the 9-10 hour on 102.3 FM for over 20 years.

However, Mocs fans know him best for his play-by-play call of UTC football and basketball for the last 37 years.
He has broadcast an estimated 1,500 games, including 1,100 in basketball and 400 in football during his career in the Scenic City.

"Jim Reynolds is without question one of the best in the business," stated UTC Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics David Blackburn.  "He has made championship calls for the Mocs for nearly 40 years, and his contributions to UTC go well beyond broadcasting.

"We are all excited for him and this well-deserved honor."

Reynolds was inducted into the UTC Athletics Hall of Fame in 2001 and the Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.  He volunteers as the Emcee of the Mocs' annual Scrappy Awards and Hall of Fame Banquets.  Additionally, for almost 30 years, he has donated his time and talents to announcing the Area 4 Special Olympics Track & Field Meet held each May.
