Phillip Edwin Morris, 74, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at a local hospital.
Phillip was born on Aug. 21, 1942, in Pisgah, Al., to the late Cecil and Ila Morris. He was a veteran of the Air Force serving four years of duty. He was employed as a district manager for BFI waste services for 38 years; after leaving BFI he worked for three years with Waste Management in Florida; moved back to Chattanooga and helped grow Chattanooga Waste Services which is now known as Santec. He was a member of the Ascension Lutheran Church, and loved helping others.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathryn Howard.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lenore Morris, daughter, Deborah Villalobos of Taos, NM, step son, Craig Klepper of Kress, TX, granddaughter, Valoma Villalobos of Taos, NM, sister, JoAnn (Kenneth) Higgins, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 10, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Clinton Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Sand Mtn., Al.
