Tennessee American Water Invites Residents To Water Fest

  • Wednesday, July 26, 2017
Tennessee American Water invites area residents to experience the world of water at its upcoming Water Fest on Thursday, Aug. 3. The open house is free and includes plant tours, educational demonstrations, children’s activities, face painting and refreshments. In addition several community partners will be on-hand to show how water is connected to almost everything we do.

“This marks our 130th year serving the Chattanooga area as the water provider,” said Valoria Armstrong, president of Tennessee American Water.
“Water Fest will give residents the opportunity to learn some history about Tennessee American Water and offer water-related fun for all ages.”

Some examples of activities include “fixing” a broken pipe, sitting in the driver’s seat of machinery used in the water industry, running through the Tennessee American Water mister to cool off, and playing a water facts game. Community partners include:

Happinest Wildlife Rehabilitation and Rescue
Chattanooga Fire Department
Hamilton County Water Quality Department
Creative Discovery Museum
Stowers Machinery
Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy Aquaponics Club
Coca-Cola Sampling Team
BASF

Water Fest takes place on Thursday, Aug. 3 from 6-8 p.m. at the Chattanooga water plant. Parking will be in the back parking lot of the Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences, 865 East Third St.  Shuttles will take attendees to and from the water plant. More information is available at the Tennessee American Water Facebook page and on Twitter @tnamwater.

Sponsors and volunteers for Water Fest include Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Allied Underground, Eslinger Contractors, and Thompson Engineering.
