Dalton State Men's Basketball Names Alex Ireland New Assistant Coach

Lawrenceville, Ga. native and 2012 Kennesaw State graduate Alex Ireland has been announced as the new assistant coach for men's basketball. He comes to Dalton State after one year at University of Tennessee-Martin where he helped Skyhawk coach Anthony Stewart guide the team to their most wins (21) since joining NCAA Division I. 

 

He attended Collins Hill High School in Lawrenceville, Ga.

 He got into basketball working as a manager for coach Ingle at Kennesaw State. He was assistant coach at North Cobb Christian in 2012-13; coached six NCAA Division I signees. He was graduate assistant at Valdosta St. from 2013-15, where he received his Master's degree in Higher Education Leadership. He was assistant coach at Alcorn State from 2015-16, and assistant coach at UT Martin from 2016-17.

 

He is engaged to Elise Williard from Cumming, Ga. who attends Law School at the University of Oregon.
