James Robert Turner, 79, of LaFayette, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018. He was born in Rushville, Oh. to the late Acil Seymore and Lillian Louise Searles Turner. He had resided most of his life in Pensacola, Fl., he was a former resident of Cullman, Al. and had resided in LaFayette for the past 13 years. He was self-employed as a brick mason for many years before retiring in 2000. He enjoyed hunting hogs and turkey.
He is survived by his former wife, Velinda Turner and their son, Acil Rodney Turner both of Pensacola, Fl.; his siblings, Richard Seymour (Wilma) Turner, of Haiti, Karen Sue (Harold) Watson, of Rock Spring, Ga., Paul Daniel (Brenda) Turner, of Ocala, Fl., Miriam Marie (John) Struewing, of Connersville, In. and Mary Jane (Rod) Lawrence, of East Ridge; two grandchildren; one great-grandchilds; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will celebrate Jim’s life on Tuesday, Nov. 13 in the chapel, with a memorial service at 5 p.m.
