Erlanger Heart and Lung Institute announces Dr. Adrian Danchenko is now serving the Athens community.
Dr. Danchenko brings with him over 18 years of experience as an invasive cardiologist with a special interest in the diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathies, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and atrial fibrillation. He was involved in the graduate medical education of other cardiologists while in the Navy, taking on multiple teaching roles.
As a commissioned Naval Officer, Dr.
Danchenko earned his medical degree. He elected to serve as a general medical officer for four years with the U.S. Marine Corps stationed at Kaneohe Marine Corps Base after completing his internship. He was deployed overseas on several occasions while filling multiple operational roles from Battalion, Regimental and acting Flight Surgeon.
After completing his Fellowship training in Cardiology he served as CCU, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Echo director during his tenure at the Cardiology Fellowship training program in San Diego. He has provided primary and subspecialty care to active duty military and their families, retirees and to members of the US Congress during his 13 years of active duty. He completed an additional seven years in the Naval Reserves prior to retiring from the military after 20 years of service.
